A Part of the Kingsport ARTS Festival 2024

Be a part of the 2024 Kingsport ARTS Festival as we project your artwork onto buildings in downtown Kingsport! On April 19th we will offer “Light Up the Night” featuring local and regional digital artists. Our goal with this festival is to encourage excitement and involvement in the Arts. Selected artists will receive a stipend as outlined below.
Work will be projected during the festival on the night of April 19th, 2024.
Projection size of approximately 25' diagonally.

Notification of selected artists: March 30th
Artwork file deadline: April 5th

Work will be projected as a part of the Kingsport ARTS: Light Up the Night event:
April 19th, 6:00-10:00pm
Downtown location near Market and Broad Streets

Entry Fee: $5 for up to 3 submissions; if the works are part of a series, please note the series name in your submission.
Application Requirements:
● Appalachian regional artists may apply.
● Works must have been created in the last five years.
● Video Art: focus on exploration, creativity, color, and movement. 2 minute maximum run time.
● Still Art: focus on bright colors, interaction between elements, and movement.
● Aspect ratio 16:9, 1920x1080 pixels
● Maximum of 3 entries per artist
● Artist Statement (not bio)
Jurors will be selecting artwork blind, using your artist statement and file(s).
Delivery: Works should be in appropriate file formats in the application. If additional files or a different format is requested, files must be sent no later than April 5th. If selected, artist will also be asked to fill out an agreement form and send an additional artist bio and headshot.
Sales: Works will not be offered for sale by Engage Kingsport. For the duration of the event, and for the following year, Engage Kingsport will have rights to project the selected works for public viewing and to use the work, with artist credit, for promotional purposes.
Submitting Images: Files must be titled with the title of the work, and not include your name. (Sample: Title.jpg). Please submit as JPGs with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Please note that any accepted work not accurately represented by the entry submission may be rejected.
Stipend:
Selected artists will receive a $200 stipend
